GLOWING OFSTED REPORT FOR CHIRTON SCHOOL

"We love our school. It's like a big family."

This, according to Chirton School's latest Ofsted report, is the view of its pupils. And they like it because it "successfully provides its pupils with a happy, enjoyable, safe and attractive learning environment".

The Section 5 inspection was carried out by inspector Faysal Mikdadi on 15 May 2007 and many good things emerge from his report. A few samples:

"One of the reasons why children enjoy their school is the way that they are valued, the opportunities that they are given to take on responsibilities and the way that the adults listen to them. As a result, pupils come across as confident and socially mature."

"Pupils are particularly pleased with the good range of activities available both inside and outside the classrooms."

Head teacher Kate Lloyd-Jones said she was very happy with the outcome of the inspection, particularly the comments on the safe, happy and enjoyable environment. "We were especially delighted that the things we value most were judged as good by the Ofsted inspector."
